I booked our first club level stay recently at Walt Disney World. While we love staying at Disney’s Deluxe resorts, typically club level is out of our budget. I really wanted to try club level, because… dreams, so I booked the Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort since it is the least expensive club level available and the only club level at a moderate resort. We were definitely spoiled and I am going to be sad with every future non-club level stay going forward.
What I Loved!!
The Service: I got a call before our trip asking us if we needed anything and letting us know what we should do when we arrived. We were able to bypass the front desk and check-in directly within Chronos Club Lounge where they offered us an alcoholic drink or a mocktail while we waited.
The Add-Ons: Staying club level gave us the opportunity to schedule a Minnie Van ride from the airport! It was definitely a splurge add-on, but it was truly amazing. Our driver was waiting with a sign and helped us bring our luggage to the vehicle where she had waters and little treats waiting for us. My mom also loved the robes they brought for us to use in our room!
The Food: In the morning there were a few hot options (including crispy bacon some mornings. Yum!) which varied each day along with plenty of cold and standard options such as cold-cut meats, pastries, and cereal. Light snacks were offered mid-day. Then hors d’oeuvres and select alcoholic beverages, followed by desserts and cordials. We typically did breakfast and then grabbed snacks and water for the parks where we spent the majority of our day.
The Atmosphere: From the lounge, there were great views of Hollywood Studios out the windows! They also had books and games available around the room for everyone to enjoy. For families with younger children, they could be entertained with the toys from the chest.
What I Didn’t Love!
The Food/water: While there was a decent variety of food, I still wish there had been a few more options, especially for grab and go snacks. I also was not a fan of the desserts, but I am not a huge fan of Disney desserts really anyway. I feel like their cake is always dry and their chocolate treats are a little more bitter than I prefer. I also wish they would have had full bottles of water vs the half size.
Who Should Book Club Level?
- Anyone who enjoys a higher level of service and more conveniences during their trip.
- Those who like to have a rest day or who spend more time at their hotel. If you are taking a quick trip and plan to spend all day in the parks, you won’t get to enjoy many of the club level perks, decreasing its value.
